Executive Summary: Kitbag is an edtech company that serves both students and teachers through technology & content offerings including live class platform, online tests, other content products, etc. Kitbag owns the "LivoLearn.com" platform and teacher products & services under the TestKit umbrella.
Market need: Star Teachers (popular and well-known) are concentrated in Tier I and II towns. To study from them, EWS students and those from Tier III and IV are typically required to move to another city, stay in a hostel and pay high fees to study in a large batch (as high as 1200 students in a single classroom). This is inconvenient and expensive. Star Teachers themselves lag in technology adoption. Therefore, they are not able to successfully transition to online teaching and well-funded education technology companies are stealing a march over them.
Product/Service description: We have developed and maintain “LivoLearn” - a Live Class Streaming platform that allows students to attend live classes of star teachers. We also provide all value-added services (practice tests, books, class sheets, etc) that are required for studies. We have also developed “TestKit” - a complete kit for teachers of physical classes. This includes everything that a physical academy may need for its offline students - an online test platform (Web and Android based), books, academy management software, class sheets, etc.). Online test platform has over 70,000 questions in both Hindi & English. Books are bilingual too. So far, the focus has been on serving the government jobs market. TestKit is moving towards other markets too – including IIT-JEE, Management entrance, Undergrad entrance, Campus recruitment, etc. Also, we are developing innovative products that will directly enhance the learning outcomes of the students.
Customers/Users: TestKit customers: All academies engaged in testprep of above examinations LivoLearn customers: Students preparing for above examinations.
Revenue Model: For LivoLearn, we keep a share of fees for the live classes and disburse the rest to teacher. For TestKit, we are charging teachers for the services we offer to their offline students.
Current traction: TestKit has 68 academies as customers LivoLearn live class streaming platform is operational since May 2019 and has already seen hundreds of unique student purchases.
